Coronavirus began ‘as an accident’ in Chinese lab, a report seen by the former head of British Intelligence told UK media today.
A peer-reviewed scientific document seen by Sir Richard Dearlove suggested the Covid-19 virus was accidentally released from a lab.
The claim would be stunning if confirmed, with reports previously suggesting the virus came from animals at a wet market in Wuhan.
Earlier in May, Sydney’s tabloid newspaper The Daily Telegraph had reported a number of articles suggesting the virus had accidentally been released.
Sydney based Journalist Sharri Markson reported from Australia that intelligence was looking at the possibility of an accident.
“As intelligence agencies investigate whether the virus inadvertently leaked from a Wuhan laboratory, the team and its research led by scientist Shi Zhengli feature in the dossier prepared by Western governments that points to several studies they conducted as areas of concern,” the Daily Telegraph reported.
