Quaden Bayles Story – Australian boy’s heartbreaking story captured hearts around the world this week.
A 9-year-old Australian boy has become famous world-wide this week after a video of him in despair streamed on Facebook by his mum went viral.
The video was shared in order to raise awareness of the impact bullying has in the online age.
An online Go Fund Me page helping out Quanden Bayles and his family has since surpassed $300,000.
The emotional video quickly went viral, racking up millions of views across a variety of social media platforms since it was shared on Wednesday.
Many celebrities, including Hugh Jackman, who posted a video telling him “you’ve got a friend in me.”
The story of Quaden Bayles has reached news organisations around the world, from Canada to Lebanon, Britain to Japan.
There is now a fundraising effort to get Quanden Bayles to Disney Land and California in the next few weeks.
However, as is typical with internet sensations, there is much disinformation out there on Quanden Bayles being shared, including fake information that Bayles is 18-years old (he’s nine).
Multiple “fake” Instagram and GoFundMe accounts have also been created
A number of social media influencers and opinion makers also spread a false rumour Bayles was “scamming” people.
The nine year old and his mother Yarraka Bayles had previously been involved in Dwarfism awareness and anti-bullying campaigns to raise awareness.
