Breaking News: Authorities have issued a “dam failure evacuation warning” for people downstream of the Mooney Dam, part of the Hawkesbury- Nepean river system north of Sydney, near Gosford.
People in the area are being told to prepare to evacuate.
Here’s what SES NSW say:
NSW SES is advising residents in downstream of the Lower Mooney Dam to prepare to evacuate. Residents should monitor the situation and be prepared to evacuate when instructed to do so. A Dam Failure Evacuation Order will be issued by the NSW SES if evacuation is required. Where to go if Evacuation is required:Wherever possible, people should go and stay with family or friends, or make other accommodation arrangements

- Make preparations to take pets, essential items, warm clothes, medicines, insurance documents and valuables with you.
- Share this information with family, friends and neighbours and help others where possible.
