A deconstructed Anzac biscuit at a Sydney cafe?

A twitter post about an apparent “deconstructed Anzac biscuit” at a Sydney cafe is generating significant anger.

Twitter user “Mattie” claims to have come across this so called deconstructed ANZAC biscuit the day after the Australian government reiterated fines would apply for musing the biscuit name


The Department of Veteran’s Affairs has warned of fines up to $51,000 for misuse of the word ‘ANZAC’ or for any ingredients changed to ANZAC biscuits.

Anyone making and selling ANZAC buscuits for commercial gain should “not substantially deviate from the traditional recipe and shape”.
