NSW will enter a new phase in the local lockdown rules with a number of restrictions lifting Monday.
Gatherings: Up to 50 people are now allowed to be in the same place at once time. Up from ten.
This means that 50 people will be allowed to dine in restaurants, pubs and cafes at any one time.
“All customers must be seated and no bookings of more than 10 [are] allowed, in addition to many other conditions which must be met,” Berejiklian said.
Up to 20 people allowed at weddings and 50 at funerals and places of worship.
Beauty salons can reopen with no more than 10 clients at one time.
Strict rules include taking a record of attendance for all clients, staff and contractors. Physical magazines, books will be removed from waiting areas to prevent transmission. Designated staff members will monitor salon capacity and ensure physical distancing is appropriate.
Museums, galleries, libraries, zoos and aquariums can reopen Monday June 1.
Almost all of the above venues will require ticket purchases and physical distancing.
Regional travel within the state of NSW is now permitted, with some camping grounds and caravan parks open.
The government is encourage people to take holidays and trips to regional centres to help stimulate the economy.
