Justine Damond Ruszczyk – Why did they shoot Sydney Mum?
A Sydney mum, Justine Damond Ruszczyk, was in her pyjamas when US police fired a hail of bullets at her.
Local news media report the 40-year-old mum of two was in an alley way near her home in Minnesota when police arrived and fired at her.
The Saturday evening incident has sparked outrage both locally and back in Australia, after reports that she was fired on after approaching police.
The Australian, who was engaged to a US national, was reported to have phoned police reporting a disturbance nearby.
She was there in her pyjamas when police arrived where she had reported an assault.

Justine Damond Ruszczyk moved from Sydney to Minneapolis several years ago.
She was a peaceful yoga instructor, personal health and life coach and meditation teacher, it was reported.
“A very conscious, loving person and you wouldn’t associate that with a gunshot in an alley.” one neighbour said of Justine Damond Ruszczyk

Her son took to Facebook to describe what had happened
“Basically my mum was shot for reasons I don’t know,” he said in a video posted on Facebook.
“I just know she heard a sound in the alley so then she called the police and the cops showed up and she was a very passionate woman, she probably thought something bad was happening and then next thing I know they take my best friend’s life.”
“America sucks, these cops need to get trained differently … I’m just done, f*** the police. I’m just done. This has to stop.” Justine Damond Stepson’ said.
