Sydney Cook for the Bush : 30 of Sydney’s finest chefs are coming together for a one of culinary event.

Beginning at 10am in Surry Hills, Cook for the Bush will see chefs collaborate on a custom à la carte brunch menu that’s available until 3pm, as well as a range of takeaway baked goods, Broadsheet Sydney said.

Top Chefs from across Sydney will be taking part, including names like Danielle Alvarez (Fred’s), Aaron Ward (Sixpenny), James Vile (Biota), Nic Wong (Icebergs Dining Room + Bar), Andy Bowdy (Saga) and Colin Fassnidge (My Kitchen Rules), as well as Duncan Welgemoed from Adelaide’s Africola. Here’s a message from the team:

The situation our beautiful country is going through right now is completely heartbreaking. To do our small part, we have teamed up with some of Sydney’s best restaurants and will be “Cooking for the Bush”.

Join us on Sunday the 12th of January and help us raise money for the Red Cross. All produce and everyone’s time is being donated so all funds will go to the Red Cross Bushfire Appeal.

Chefs from many of Sydney’s best restaurants will be working to create a unique brunch menu for this event. We had so many chefs keen to help we ran out of room in the kitchen so we will also be running a take-away bake sale.

Many of the restaurants that are working with us have also, very kindly, donated vouchers for special experiences. If you can’t make it on Sunday but are keen to contribute, bid in our silent auction. We are still putting together the auction page on the website, check backk soon. Have an amazing food experience and help a family in need.

We’ll be setting up a kid’s corner so feel free to bring the whole family.
