Sydney Heatwave is here.
The Western Suburbs of Sydney will experience temperatures of over 40C for the rest of the week as warm air from central Australia moves east.
Forecasters say suburbs closest to the Blue Mountains will experience extreme heat of 40C+ from Tuesday afternoon.
The BOM of NSW expects a top of 40C Tuesday, 41C Wednesday, 42C Thursday and a whooping 45C on Friday.
Showers will bring much needed relief on the weekend.
“There is a high-pressure system forming over the Tasman sea, and at the same time there is an inland trough coming from Central Australia,” the BOM said.
“The system is basically not allowing cold fronts to come through and the trough is directing the hot air mass.”
Muggy, humid conditions will be felt across Sydney.
Don’t forget to put on deodorant everybody.
Meanwhile a total fire ban is in place for much of NSW and around Australia.
Extreme hit is expected across Australia, with towns across the continent hitting record highs.
