Breaking News: The NSW Premier has announced June 1 as a major milestone day for the lifting of restrictions in the state.

On that date travel across various regions of NSW will be permitted, allowing people to go on holidays and visit without any restrictions.

June 1 will also see restaurants, cafes, pubs and other hospitality venues open up for up to 50 people at any one time.

The easing of the Sydney lockdown restrictions will be welcome by many small business currently struggling with limited customer rules.

The announcement made today will see a return to a new normal for Sydney, with thousands of workers likely to return to work.

Hospitality and tourism businesses have been hard hit by the lockdown and its hoped the easing of restrictions on the back of low Covid cases will boost the local economy.
