The NSW Premier says the outbreak in Sydney is getting worse.
“The situation is worsening beyond what we would like to have seen,” she said Saturday morning.
The city recorded 29 new cases and more than half of these were people not in isolation but out and about in the community.
12 cases were caught by people going about their business in Sydney.
There will be an emergency cabinet meeting today and the government will decide to make the lockdowns wider, reports said.
With many cases now recorded outside the east of Sydney, lockdowns of more city areas is coming.
”The situation is worsening beyond what we would have liked to have seen, and the reason for that is they are beyond the areas of concern. Worry is they may have been exposed for days without knowing. This will be focus of crisis cabinet meeting today,” the Premier said.
