Sydney storms have caused mass power outages across the city, with trees falling on lines and power infrastructure knocked out.
Thousands of people across dozens of suburbs are without power, after a massive storm cell rolled across the city.
Powerful wind gusts and countless lightning strikes have wreaked havoc on the city, causing damage to many homes and businesses and knocking out the power grid in a number of areas.
Wind gusts over 80km/h were recorded for ten minutes at Sydney Airport.
Passengers arriving on commercial planes reported severe turbulence on the way in.
There were 95km/h wind gusts on Sydney Harbour and wind gusts at 10:50pm at Fort Denison 104km/h, before the wind completely died down.
“Dangerous storms are currently impacting the network,” Ausgrid said.
“Please stay at least 8metres away from any fallen powerlines.
There are already multiple storm related outages tonight.”
